How to Choose the Right Ceiling Fan for Your Room

20 August 2026

Buying a ceiling fan looks simple until you see the spec sheet - sweep size, air delivery, RPM, power consumption. Here is what actually matters.

Sweep size is the diameter of the circle the blades cover. For a standard bedroom or living room (up to 12 x 12 ft), a 1200 mm (48") fan like the SanyoGet Classic or Bruno is ideal. For kitchens, balconies and small rooms, a compact fan like the Mini Bruno fits better and looks proportionate.

Air delivery (measured in CMM - cubic metres per minute) tells you how much air the fan actually moves. Higher is better for hot regions.

Placement matters too. The fan should hang 7-8 feet above the floor and at least 10 inches below the ceiling for the best airflow.
